7 Secret Photo Shoot Places in Singapore Professional Choose

How Flow SG Found These Hidden Gems

I love taking photos — but I hate busy places where people keep walking into my frame. So I started looking for quiet, beautiful, and secret photo shoot places in Singapore.

Now, I want to share these special spots with you. Some are hidden parks, some feel like old villages, and some just have the perfect lighting. I’ve been to all of them, so don’t worry — I’ll tell you how to get there, what time to go, and what to expect.

1. Yunnan Garden – Waterfalls and Wooden Bridges

  • Location: Inside Nanyang Technological University (NTU)
  • Nearest MRT: Pioneer MRT, then take Bus 199 to NTU
  • Best time to shoot: Morning (7am–10am)
Why I love it:

This garden looks like a mini-Japan in Singapore. There are bridges, waterfalls, lotus ponds, and big steps. It’s quiet and peaceful. You can take portraits, walking shots, or even sit by the water. No tourists, just vibes.

Bring: Tripod, wide lens, and comfy shoes (lots of steps)

2. Taman Jurong Lake Garden – Golden Hour Heaven

  • Location: Lakeside, near Chinese Garden
  • Nearest MRT: Lakeside MRT, 10-min walk
  • Best time to shoot: 5pm–6:30pm (sunset)
Why I love it:

Most people go to the main Jurong Lake Garden. But the Taman Jurong side is quieter and has better lighting. It has long paths, tall trees, and soft grass. Great for couples’ shoots or relaxing mood photos.

Tip: Use the grass area near the water for that “open field” look.

3. Canberra Park – Colourful Playground Vibes

  • Location: Along Canberra Link
  • Nearest MRT: Canberra MRT, 5-min walk
  • Best time: 8am–10am (light + fewer kids)
Why I love it:

This park has a pastel-coloured playground, zig-zag paths, and bright open space. It’s great for playful, lifestyle, or fashion shots. It’s also clean and never too crowded.

Bring: Colourful outfit to match the background!

4. Gillman Barracks – Rustic Art and White Walls

  • Location: 9 Lock Road, near Alexandra
  • Nearest MRT: Labrador Park MRT, 8-min walk
  • Best time: Weekdays, morning or late afternoon
Why I love it:

Old army camp turned art gallery. The buildings are white and vintage-looking. Perfect for edgy or artsy photo vibes. There are also plants and stairs you can use creatively.

Bring: A clean outfit for contrast against white walls.

5. Rochor Canal – Reflections and Street Feels

  • Location: Between Jalan Besar MRT and Rochor MRT
  • Best time: 7am–9am or 4:30pm–6pm

Why I love it:
Nobody thinks a canal is cool. But this one? Perfect symmetry. Reflections. Colourful shophouses in the back. And best of all, not many people shoot here, so your photos will feel unique.

Tip: Stand on the bridge for a killer angle.

6. Kampong Lorong Buangkok – Singapore’s Last Village

  • Location: Off Yio Chu Kang Road
  • Nearest MRT: Kovan MRT, then 15-min walk or short bus
  • Best time: Morning or cloudy day

Why I love it:
This is a real village. Wooden houses, dirt paths, roosters. You won’t believe this is in Singapore. It’s peaceful, nostalgic, and perfect for rustic-themed photo shoots.

Respect: This is a living kampong. Don’t disturb the people. Always ask before taking close-up shots of homes.

7. Keppel Hill Reservoir – Hidden Jungle Spot

  • Location: Near Mount Faber / Keppel Hill area
  • Nearest MRT: Harbourfront MRT, then walk or Grab
  • Best time: Morning (cooler, better light)

Why I love it:
This place feels like a secret forest. There’s a small abandoned reservoir, stone steps, and wild nature. You can do dreamy forest shots, solo portrait shoots, or “explorer” style photos here.

Note: It’s not marked on most maps, so look up Keppel Hill Reservoir trail. Wear good shoes — it’s slightly muddy.

Quick Tips Before You Go

  • Go early: Avoid harsh sun and crowds
  • Check the weather: Cloudy = soft light, sunny = strong shadows
  • Charge your phone/camera
  • Bring water and light snacks
  • Dress to match the place: Rustic, colourful, artsy, etc.
  • Respect the space: Especially residential or nature areas
